Whether one supports or opposes the dissemination and consumption of pornographic media, one cannot deny that pornography has an increasing influence on our society. This is particularly true given the rise of the internet. A quick Google search using the keyword "pornography" yields 22,900,000 hits, providing evidence that technology has made it easier to access pornography than ever before. What is up for debate is whether and to what degree pornography's influence on our society is beneficial, harmful, or mixture of both. With this blog I aim to briefly explore the complexities of this issue. I choose to focus on various feminist perspectives out of a belief that feminism is uniquely poised to consider how pornography influences the lives of women.
